About Little,Harrison - Harvey,Stewart Familys
LITTLE'S -originated in the Dumfries area of Scotland as confirmed by DNA testing. Emigration to Ireland, Co. Cavan was in the early 1800's. Records of the family are still in the Church of Ireland at Cootehill in 2014. Over time in varying family groups they emigrated to the United States and Canada(Ontario initially),some to Durham, Grey and Simcoe Counties (Peterboroug area,Clarke Twp, Enniskellen and Nottawasaga Tshp). Eventually to the U.S. and western Canada. In Ireland marriages were made with Taylor, Gibson, Fairbairn. Later alliances included Marshall, Arnott, Harrison, Dazell. Scruby, Walker, Little, Reed, Hewson, Cinnamon, Moodie, Fisher, Irwin, Ferrier, Cameron and many more.
The HARRISONs from Co. Leitrim, Ireland to Canada/USA and one to NZ. Connected to Davidson, Robertson/Robinson, Beckett, Cathcart, Dias, Cleary and Armstrong.
HARVEY'S - England>USA, VA>IA>across to OR and CA. Marriages connected them to Boaz, Lee, Proctor, and in more recent times to Ellison, Quesenbury, Hall and triply to Stewart (2 brothers and 1 sister m. 2 sisters and 1 brother). STEWART, Scotland>USA> OR and CA. Marriages made connections to Elson, Bain, Orr,Hussey,Harvey, Snider, Gillespie, Shanafelt, Hurst and Connor. Many other connections can be found in the alphabetical listing. I have included two families not linked at this time. The first is the John Little and Janet family of Dumfries who could possibly be the connection to our Simon. The second is a Little, First name unknown) whose family according to family history were connected to the Cavan area which evokes another possible connection to our Littles. See photo index. This never ending search causes a strange mix of feelings, gratitude and excitement when new/lost relatives are found, pride in the origins, hardships and determination of my ancestors and regret that when I was young I never seized the opportunities to make records from the memories and knowledge of parents and grandparents.
I invite dialogue from other researchers who believe that we may have connected families.

VISITORS: Please visit "my Unknowns" Photo Album. These could be either Harvey or Little connections, help with identification would be a real bonus - thanks.
Also: fellow researchers: PLEASE REQUEST PERMISSION IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO COPY any of my pictures or information. I have noted that some have been used on other sites and erroneous connections have also resulted from "name grabbing".
